Giving Thanks
Giving thanks to the people who have made so many wonderful things at the library possible.
Thank You, Monica Pennell!
It is with heartfelt gratitude that we thank Monica Pennell, our Library Gallery Manager, for her incredible contributions to the Ashby Free Public Library. For longer than I have been director, Monica has dedicated herself to curating our gallery, bringing in talented artists whose vibrant exhibits have brought life, inspiration, and beauty to our library. Patrons have greatly enjoyed and been enriched by these wonderful displays, thanks to Monica’s discerning eye and creative vision.
As Monica embarks on exciting new opportunities and responsibilities, we wish her all the best in this next chapter of her life. Her generosity, dedication, and talents have left a lasting impact on our library and community, and we are so grateful for the time and effort she has shared with us.
Looking ahead, the library is seeking a new Gallery Manager to continue this tradition of showcasing local art and creativity. If you are interested in volunteering or know someone who might be, please let me know. We are always eager to support and display the works of our talented local artists.
Thank you again, Monica, for everything you’ve done for the library and our community!
Thank You to the Friends of the Ashby Free Public Library!
A heartfelt thank you to the Friends of the Ashby Free Public Library for their unwavering support and dedication. Thank you, Michelle, Victoria, Barry, Lynne, and our two newest Friends, Susan and Sandra This past weekend’s Winter Artisan Market was a wonderful success thanks to our partnership with our friends at Rainbow’s End Apiary. Thank you Kate for organizing all of the vendors who did such a wonderful job. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm make such a difference!
The Friends work tirelessly behind the scenes, supporting all the events the library hosts and providing financial backing for many of our programs and services. From major events like concerts to the little things, like replenishing our ever-popular Play-Doh, their contributions help make everything we do possible.
We are also fortunate to have so many in the community who support the library in other ways, from spreading the word on Facebook to lending a hand at events by setting up, cleaning up, or even opening jars! Your efforts—big and small—are greatly appreciated and make our library a true community hub.
If you’d like to be part of this amazing group, consider joining the Friends! Annual dues are just $10, and you never have to attend a meeting. The Friends will reach out when help is needed, and you can decide if you’re available. The funds raised go directly toward concerts, art classes, speakers, Play-Doh, and so much more.
To join, find the Friends of the Ashby Free Public Library on Facebook or email them at friendsofashbylibrary@gmail.com.
Thank you to everyone who supports the library—we couldn’t do it without you!
