Goodbye Summer!
Upcoming Events to Celebrate the end of Summer
Hi Friends,
I can’t believe the end of summer is upon us. Join us at the library this week to cap off your summer.
Create a Tie Dye Masterpiece
Saturday August 17th at 11:00
We have had so many fun art projects this summer and we are capping off the summer with something you can keep.
Join Jen to create a Tie Dye Tshirt, or bring in your own white item to Tie Dye.
Make sure you wear suitable clothes, because tie Dye can be messy.
Everyone is welcome.
Special Town Meeting
Tuesday August 20th at 6PM at Ashby Elementary
Join us at the special town meeting at the Ashby Elementary School to appropriate the monies needed to pay for the schools and other services in town.
End of Summer Party
Thursday August 22nd at 5PM
Let’s say goodbye to summer with the best summer treat, ice cream! We will also be exchanging gently used books, videos and toys. This is a great time to donate your gently loved toys to the library to enable another child to give it more love. As the summer reading theme this year was conservation, we wanted to make sure we were not adding more items to the world.
Please join us for ice cream, ice cream is not just for the young! Everyone is welcome.
Chat with the Selectboard
Featuring Dave Nadeau Thursday Aug 22nd at 7PM
The members of the Selectboard are meeting with members of the town at different times, and this Thursday is your chance to speak directly with Dave Nadeau. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions or let the select board know about things that are on your mind about our town.
Historical Society Open House
Saturday August 24th from 10-12 at the Old Engine House
This is your opportunity to check out some of the interesting artifacts from Ashby’s long history.
If you are interested in learning more about Ashby History and the work the Historical Society does, they meet monthly at the library. Their next meeting is Tuesday September 10th at 1:30
We Won!
The library won a grant to bring a Smithsonian Exhibition to Ashby! The exhibit is called Voices and Votes and it is through a program called Museum on Main Street. We are the only place in this area where you can see the exhibit. Along with the exhibit we will be having programs along with the exhibit so that everyone can enjoy this wonderful opportunity. The exhibit will be in Ashby next summer, the winners were just officially announced today.
