Cruising into summer at the Ashby Free Public Library
Hi Friends,
June is always a busy month, so things are a little quieter here at the library, however, we have lots of fun planned for Summer Reading season.
Special Events Coming Up
Semi-Aquatic Mammals
Thursday May 30th at 6PM
We are delighted that this presentation has been able to be rescheduled. Thank you to Gaynor and the Nashua River watershed for their flexibility and willingness to present this program.
Cooking Club
Thursday June 6th at 4PM
Just in time for summer, we will be making Strawberry Shortcake. lease join us to make this summery treat.
First Friday Movie
Friday June 7th at 5PM
Ahead of the June Release of Inside Out 2 we will be showing Inside Out. Join us at the library at 5 for the movie. The Taco Truck will be here ready to serve at 4PM.
Decorative Printmaking and Collage Workshop
Saturday June 8th and June 15th from 10:30 to 12:30
Join Ann-Marie Labollita for a fun art workshop. On day one you will create your own one of a kind papers using a gel plate technique. No experience is necessary. On the second day of the workshop out will use your papers to make a collage. Collages will be mounted on to a wood panel for display in our gallery.
This workshop is made possible by a generous grant from the Community Foundation. Seating is limited to 10. Please register at the library or by emailing hperry@cwmars.org
AshbyFest
Saturday June 22nd from 9-3 on the Ashby Common
To kick off the summer reading season we are having a festival! The Common will be alive with music, dance, baby animals, fun, games, artists and vendors of all types.
We are looking for people who want to help! If you are willing to dedicate an hour or more to helping out we would be most grateful. For more information or to sign us email Heather at hperry@cwmars.org.
Nissitissit String Quartet “European Cruise”
Thursday June 27th at 7PM
Join us to welcome the Nissitissit String Quartet back to the library. Their performances are always amazing. This year their theme is European Cruise. They will share some favorites from European Composers. This is always an enjoyable evening. Please Join Us.

Stories and Fun
Join Jen for stories and a craft on Tuesdays at 10AM. If the weather is lovely story time might even be outside. Jen has just purchased some fun new items for the children’s room including a huge dinosaur. Come in and check it out.
Lego Club
Tuesdays at 4PM
Join James and other friends for Lego Club. If you make something very special, you are welcome to take it home.
Wednesdays
Right Start Playgroup
Join Occupational Therapist, Denise Lynch, for this wonderful group. Parents and their crawlers and walkers play with friends and can ask Denise any questions they may have about child development. Denise brings something fun to experiment with each week and suggests developmentally appropriate activities to build skills. New members are always welcome. This is a great group to meet new friends for parents and kids.

Art For Everyone
Thursdays at 5:30
Join our group of artists who work on their own projects together! It is a great way to hold yourself accountable. New members are always welcome.
Video Game Club
Join Kierstyn for video game club. We have more than just MarioKart for our switches and players can work with Kierstyn to pick the game for the evening. Fun for all ages.
