A Wrinkle in Time

If you are a fan of local theater Project Shakespeare is putting on their adaptation of A Wrinkle in time by Madeleine L’Engle. One of the Ashby’s own is staring in the production.
Non Fiction Book Club

Women Rowing North by Mary Pipher.
Most of you know Mary Pipher for her Reviving Ophelia about the challenges facing teen girls. Women Rowing North is a look at the challenges and opportunities facing women as they approach the later stages in life. If you don’t have time to read the book, but are interested in the topic, there is a wonderful interview with Pipher about the book on On Point from WBUR . Food Pantry Food Drive

Our wonderful volunteer Brooke Garvey is doing her senior national Honor Society Project on the Ashby Library’s Food Pantry. Brooke has been the force behind the food pantry since it reopened and she has done an amazing job. For her senior project she is collecting more donations so we can help our neighbors and friends out. You many drop off non-perishables and Toiletries at the library whenever it is open or in the Blue Box outside the lower entrance. Brooke will be collecting goods through the spring.

2nd Annual Ashby Festival
Saturday June 22 9-4 Ashby Common
Last summer we kicked off the Summer Reading Season with a festival. We’d hoped to have it on the common, however, the weather had other plans. This year we are doing it again and hoping that the weather cooperates. This year will be bigger and better than last year with other town organizations joining us in celebrating all the things that make Ashby great. The Friends of the Ashby Grange will be bringing back memories of the Grange Fairs of Ashby’s past. We will have Agricultural vendors and exhibits, Art vendors and Exhibits, Children’s activities, petting zoos, food and more.
