Tech Chat
This week I am highlighting Universal Class. Universal Class is a database of hundreds of classes you can take online. Some of the classes include certifications and continuing education points. If you would like to hear more about using Universal Class I will be talking about it on Tuesday at 11 and Thursday at 5PM, or come and Ask me about it anytime. It can be accessed through the library’s homepage Ashbylibrary.org
Kanopy is Here
Kanopy has over 30,000 films, documentaries, and television programs from the BBC, PBS and other quality outlets. Everyone with an Ashby card can access streaming video through the Kanopy platform using your library card number. Your pin is the last 4 digits of your phone number, unless you changed it. If you need any assistance, please ask at the library. We are very interested in hearing about your experience with Kanopy.
Meet with Selectboard Chair Dave Nadeau Thursday September 26th at 7PM
The Selectboard members are making themselves available to speak with the people of Ashby , and this week Dave Nadeau is at the Library Thursday evening to speak with the people of Ashby to hear their concerns, thoughts, and ideas. This is an amazing opportunity to have your voice heard.
Booksale Saturday September 28th
The Library will be holding its annual fall during the PumpkinFest on Saturday. The sale will feature much more than just bools. There will be puzzles, games, toys and a huge variety of things that have been donated to the library for the sale. Get a jump on your holiday shopping and do it in a sustainable way by purchasing gently used items. All donations go to support the Friends of the Ashby Free Public Library. The Friends support the library programming including concerts, art classes, children’s programming, movie nights, and art supplies. The Friends are always looking for new friends to help support all the things the library does.
Coming in October
In October we will be having a candidates night where Representative Margaret Scarsdale and her challenger Lynne Archambault will discuss the issues facing the residents of the First Middlesex District. If you have a question to pose to the candidates, you can submit it here https://forms.gle/dZRkXZJnq5eYMnFbA.
