🌞 Summer is Here—Let the Fun Begin in Ashby! 📚🎉
We’re kicking off the season with excitement and community spirit! Sign up for the Summer Reading Program and receive a free game ticket to use at AshbyFest—where fun awaits with games galore and amazing prizes!
We’re also open for a special Friday night as we welcome the Nissitissit String Quartet for a magical evening of live music at the library. It’s the perfect way to start your weekend and set the tone for a summer full of creativity and connection.
Plus, we’re thrilled to introduce a brand-new Writing Workshop, led by a talented new volunteer. Whether you're young or young at heart, this is a fantastic opportunity to spark your creativity, find your voice, and connect with fellow writers.
AshbyFest is bigger and better than ever—with more music, more crafters, more food, more games, more baby animals, and more fun for the whole family! Join us Saturday on the Common to celebrate and support the Friends of the Library, Friends of the Ashby Grange Hall, Ashby Historical Society, and Friends of the Council on Aging.
Let’s kick off a joyful, creative, and connected summer—we can’t wait to see you there! 🌻
Community Conversations
Wednesday June 18 10:30 to 12 and Thursday June 19th 5-7:30
Help Us Shape a More Inclusive Library!
We're excited to begin work on a new grant aimed at developing better services for neurodivergent children and youth—and we need your help!
We’re looking for input from children and their families to help us understand what would make the Ashby Free Public Library a more welcoming, supportive place for all.
🗓 Join us for one of our Listening Sessions:
Wednesday morning – with juice and snacks
Thursday evening – with pizza and salad (cheese pizza for simplicity)
🍕 Please let us know if you’re gluten-free or have other dietary needs—if pizza isn’t a good fit, we’d love to know what would be! Please RSVP so we have enough pizza here or at the library
🎲 After dinner, Kierstyn will host games and activities for the kids while grown-ups chat.
Can’t make it to a session? No problem! We still want to hear from you. Feel free to reach out to us at another time that works better for your family. hperrr@cwmars.org.
Your voice matters. Help us create a library that truly reflects and serves all of Ashby’s children.

🦁 Track a Wild Animal This Summer! 🌍
Thursday, June 26th at 5 PM
Kick off your summer adventure with our exciting Fahlo Animal Tracking Bracelet Program at the Ashby Free Public Library!
Each participant will receive a Fahlo bracelet linked to a real wild animal—like a sea turtle, polar bear, elephant, or shark—and learn how to track their movements online all summer long. Discover where your animal travels, what kind of habitat it lives in, and what makes it unique!
We’ll start the evening with a fun introduction to animal tracking, then help everyone set up their bracelets so they can follow along from home, on their phones, or at the library. 🌊🦈🐘
🎟️ Bracelets are limited, so be sure to sign up early! Register Here or at the library.
📚 This event also counts toward your Summer Reading goals!
Join us for science, storytelling, and a wild new way to connect with the natural world.
