Hi Friends,
Thank You for Making Our Book Sale a Huge Success! 📚💙
A big thank you to everyone who helped make our recent 3-day book sale such a tremendous success! With the Smithsonian Museum exhibit coming soon, we needed to clear out space—and thanks to you, we’re well on our way.
We were thrilled to see so many new faces in the library, who knew a book sale could bring such energy and excitement? Even more exciting, many of you joined the Friends of the Ashby Free Public Library, welcome!
A special shoutout to new Friend Lisa Salem, who came up with the brilliant idea to donate our unsold books and other useful unsold items to the FUNdraiser at Savers. Not only does this help us raise money, it also keeps good items out of the landfill—win-win!
The funds raised by the Friends directly support wonderful library programs like the upcoming fused glass workshop, the Kids' Art Gallery, AshbyFest, and so much more.
If you’d like to make a difference in your community, we’d love to have you join the Friends of the Library! You don’t have to attend meetings—just your support makes an impact.
📬 Stop by the library to learn more, or ask us how to sign up!

Sultana: A Journey Through the Roots of American Popular Music
Thursday, June 5, 6:30pm
A Journey Through the Roots of American Popular Music” by Jon Waterman is a unique performance experience combining music history, storytelling, and original songs inspired by his research. Waterman successfully transforms fascinating tales from history into an evening-length performance that feels personal, contemporary, and politically relevant. A must see for anyone interested in American history or American music!”
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Ashby Cultural Council,
a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
Join us to make glass pendants or magnets. This class was a huge hit last year! registration is required as space is limited. Sign up at the library or email hperry@cwmars.org.
