This Week at the Ashby Free Public Library
If you can't be outside, grab a good book to enjoy your time inside!
Hello friends,
Let’s be honest, last week’s sunshine was downright glorious, and I don’t blame a single one of you for soaking up every minute of it (I was right there with you!). But now that the weather’s turning a little drizzly, it’s the perfect time to cozy up at the library.
Whether you're dodging raindrops or just looking for a little inspiration, we’ve got shelves full of good stuff waiting for you: books, DVDs, audiobooks, and plenty of ideas to dream about all the things you'll do when the sun comes back. I’ve just added a bunch of fantastic new gardening books to the collection, so if you’re planning your spring beds or fantasizing about summer tomatoes—come take a peek!
Stop by, stay dry, and leave with something that makes a rainy day feel just right.
See you soon, Heather
Did you know the library is open 24/7—right from your device?
With your Ashby library card, you have free access to Libby for eBooks and audiobooks, and Kanopy for streaming films, documentaries, and kids' content—all from the comfort of home. If you've never changed it, your default PIN is the last four digits of your phone number. Need help getting started? Just give me a call at the library—I'm always happy to walk you through setting up your account.
Looking for something you don’t see? Let me know! While not every title is available as an eBook or audiobook, I’m always happy to check. If Ashby owns a copy, it can even shorten your wait time if you're stuck on a long holds list—so don’t hesitate to ask!

Last Call for Yard Sale Sellers. Don’t Miss Out! 🛍📚♻️
Calling all procrastinators! This one’s for you!
It’s not too late to sign up for the Ashby Town-Wide Yard Sale, happening next Saturday! Be sure to get on the official map and take part in one of the most fun and community-minded days of the year.
This can’t-miss event happens alongside the Annual Book Sale run by the Friends of the Ashby Free Public Library. This year’s sale is shaping up to be our biggest and best yet, with books, puzzles, games, art supplies, and all kinds of treasures waiting to be discovered. Best of all, proceeds go to support programs held right here at the library—so every purchase helps make community events possible.
🧩🎨🧸 Bonus for yard sellers!
We’ve partnered with the local Homeschool Coop to make this day even more impactful:
Sell what you can
Donate what’s left
The Coop will raise money for both their group and the library
And together, we’ll help keep great items out of the landfill
