Nissitissit String Quartet at 4PM
Join us at the library this Saturday for a special concert celebrating the many ways music expresses the heart.
William Shakespeare wrote, “If music be the food of love, play on,” and the Nissitissit String Quartet brings that spirit to life with their program, “For the Love of Music.” Known for their wide-ranging style and lively performances, the quartet moves seamlessly across genres — from fiddle tunes and folk favorites to jazz standards, pop, rock, Broadway, and Hollywood themes.
This heartfelt program features beloved songs and showstoppers alike, including classics such as Gershwin’s Embraceable You and Cole Porter’s I’ve Got You Under My Skin, a Beatles set with Something, When I’m 64, and All You Need Is Love, and audience favorites like Rainbow Connection and Bohemian Rhapsody. You’ll also hear selections such as La Vie en Rose, the Flower Duet, Marry You, highlights from West Side Story, Irish folk tunes, and dazzling fiddle pieces the group especially enjoys performing.
Come enjoy an afternoon of passionate, familiar, and uplifting music — a perfect way to celebrate love, community, and great melodies together.

Fiction Book Club Wednesday February 18th at 5:30
Fiction Book Club is back! Join us as we discuss Harry’s Trees. I’m excited to get back into a steady rhythm of lively, thoughtful book conversations here in Ashby. Last week’s well-attended Democracy discussion was very encouraging, and I’m hopeful this month’s novel will spark another great exchange.
Please bring along a suggestion for what you’d like to read next month. One title already recommended is The Women by Kristin Hannah.
We hope you’ll read along with us and join the conversation! There will be light refreshments.
Coming Next Month
Suspense Book Club
Do you love psychological thrillers? We’re excited to introduce our new Suspense Book Club!
Aimee will be leading fellow suspense and thriller fans through these twisty, roller-coaster reads. Our first selection is That’s Not My Name. Pick up a copy at the library and start reading now.
Join us for discussion on Thursday, March 12th at 6:00 PM. New members are always welcome — come ready to talk thrills, twists, and theories!
Support the Library by Becomming a Member
Support the library by becoming a member! We’re working toward a goal of issuing 250 new library cards by the Fourth of July in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence — and you can help us get there.
Library cards are free, available to everyone in the community, and they make a real difference. State funding formulas take library card participation into account, so the more residents who hold cards, the stronger our statistics — and our support — become.
If your family prefers to check out materials on one shared card, that’s perfectly fine — but children can still have their own cards as well.
Many people are surprised by everything a library card gives you access to, including our tool library, food pantry, upcycling room, free concerts, art classes, movies, and much more.
Sign up and be counted — it’s one small step that makes a big impact for your library and your community.
