This Week at the Library
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We are living in extremely challenging times. The Community Food Pantry at the library is in dire need of food and monetary donations right now.
While all food donations are always gratefully accepted, we are especially in need of some specific food staples at this time to help our community members meet their daily needs, including:
MILK (shelf-stable containers only, esp. quarts of whole milk)
PROTEIN (cans, esp. white tuna in water, chicken, Spam, beans)
PEANUT BUTTER
PASTA
MAC + CHEESE
OATS
RICE
SOUP
VEGETABLES (cans)
For a list of other items we need the most on a regular basis, please visit

To learn more about how you can make a monetary donation, please visit https://www.ashbylibrary.org/friends/
Every penny donated goes directly towards buying food that is stocked in our pantry. The Friends of the Ashby Library is a 501c3 nonprofit organization so your donations are tax deductible.
FOOD DRIVE! The Ashby Girl Scouts will be hosting a food drive on Sat. May 16 from 9:00 to 2:00 at the Ashby Elementary School. They will be accepting food donations that will be split between the food pantry at the COA and the Community Food Pantry at the library. PLEASE CONSIDER DROPPING FOOD DONATIONS OFF AT THE FOOD DRIVE!
If you’d prefer, you are welcome to simply drop off any food intended specifically for the Community Food Pantry at the library on that day or anytime! We are located right inside the foyer at the side entrance of the library.
As always, thank you to all community members who have donated recently. We truly appreciate your generosity!
A special shout out to the person who gave us a $60 cash donation this week, and also to the person who donated their $20 gift certificate to the Ashby Market. All of these funds were used to purchase food to stock the pantry.
Questions and suggestions are welcome anytime. Please email Brenda at ashbycommunityfoodproject@gmail.com
Warmly,
Brenda and Joe

Lisa and Rose have done it again!
Join us at the library and discover your next treasure. Lisa and Rose have painstakingly collected, sorted, and organized tens of thousands of items for your next great rehoming adventure!
You’ll find wonderful new and like-new items including clothing, shoes, household goods, tools, furniture, and so much more.
Everything is available by donation, and every dollar raised goes directly to support the library and the homeschool co-op that meets here, including supplies and programming. That means all funds raised stay right here in Ashby and go right back into our community.
Come browse, shop, and support a great cause — you never know what treasures you’ll find!
